“SPACE FOR NATURE” Photo Competition 2024 **Now open for entries**

Angus beef Ireland are looking for the best “SPACE for NATURE” photographs taken in your locality during the period 15th April 2024 to 31st August 2024. These photographs should depict natural flora & fauna or images of insects birds or mammals in their natural habitat .

This year, we are calling for competition entries under one single category

  1. “Space for Nature”: depicting space for nature in the countryside

Entrants may submit a maximum of two images to the competition. The images must:

  • Be the original work of the person submitting the entry;
  • Have been taken during the specified period; and
  • Depict scenes / features  – in keeping with the category under which you are submitting your entries.

All entries to the Angus Beef Ireland 2024 ‘Space for Nature’ competition will be screened by a shortlisting panel to ensure they meet the eligibility criteria. The shortlisted images in each category will then go forward for consideration by the judge which will be appointed by Angus Beef Ireland. The winner will be announced in our marquee the National Ploughing Championships 2024.

How to Enter?

  • Please read the Terms & Conditions for full details on eligibility criteria.
  • Provide as much detail as possible about your entries so that the judges can fully understand what they are looking at, and how the picture came about.
  • Please ensure photo format is  JPEG & try to keep it below 5MB per file to ensure we can receive it..
  • Your entry must be submitted no later than 11:59 pm on 31st August 2024.

Competition Organiser, Partners and Sponsors

The ‘Space for Nature’ photography competition is being run by Angus Beef Ireland Ltd (ABI).

Competition Categories

There is one category:

  • Countryside space for nature: Depicting space for nature in your locality
  • No more than two images per entrant can be submitted to the competition.
  • If an entrant submits more than two images, the first two images submitted will go forward for judging and any additional images will be disregarded.

Submitting Images

  • Participation in this competition denotes acceptance of these terms and conditions and any additional competition specific terms and conditions which may be advertised or notified by ABI.
  • The photographer will maintain the copyright of the submitted image but gives ABI permission to use the images.
  • By submitting an image or images to this competition, you confirm that:
  • The image has been taken and processed by you.
    • The image is your original work.
    • The image was taken on or during: 15th April 2024 to 31st Aug. 2024.
    • No individuals shall be identifiable in the image.
    • You are the sole copyright owner or representative of the image(s) being submitted
    • The image has not been published in relation to other competitions.
    • Your name is not featured anywhere in the caption.
    • By entering this competition, I consent to my entry and personal data, including images being processed for the purposes of judging and awarding the competition. All personal information will be used by ABI in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
    • Entry to the competition shall be deemed full and unconditional acceptance of the terms and conditions, and ABI reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions.
    • This competition is not open to staff of ABI (be they employees, management or directors or their families).

Judging Process

  • Competition entries will be judged by a judge/ panel of judges appointed by ABI following a shortlisting process.
  • Entries will be judged using pre-defined criteria.
    • 1. Content/Novelty/Creativity  –  70 %
    • 3. Photo Quality/Presentation  –  30 %

  • The winning photographs will be announced in The Angus Beef Ireland marquee at the National Ploughing championships 2024

Data protection/privacy:

ABI is the data controller of the personal data you provide as part of your entry. Your personal data is processed under the lawful basis of Legitimate Interest in order to run the ‘Space for Nature” competition. The submitted photographs, your first and last name, the location of where the image was taken may be published on the ABI website, the information you provide, such as your address or other contact details will not be published. However, we will use these to update you on the competition. Applications to this competition will be retained for a period of six months from the date of the end of the competition.
