John Tait, a pedigree breeder and certified Angus beef producer
John Tait and his wife Kate based in Rostellan, near Midleton, Co. Cork are pedigree Angus beef breeders and Angus beef producers. Being from East Cork, John has a keen interest in food culture and completing a speciality food course in University College Cork, which was mentored by Darina Allen and the Shanagarry Cookery School. Subscribing to the philosophy that farmers, restaurateurs and consumers can all glean huge benefits from a return to a less intensive form of agriculture, John and Kate are strong advocates of sustainable farming.
Their approach to farming is not only better for the environment, it also helps to enhance the quality of their beef. “We work with local processors and a local craft butcher who hang’s our Aberdeen-Angus beef for at least twenty-one days, ensuring maximum tenderness and flavour” says John.
John who is currently President of the Aberdeen-Angus Association, has developed his brand John Tait’s Aberdeen-Angus Beef for his certified Angus Beef and delivers fresh and frozen boxes to housewives, supplies directly into restaurants and also exports in London.
